Hello everyone! I'm Efthimia! :)
I was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, but now live in Rhodes island in Greece with my husband and our two wonderful daughters. I studied graphic design and I work as a graphic designer for almost 20 years.
During these years, as a creative person, and as long as I can remember myself, I always was making things with my hands. I worked and created with many materials: beads and wire for jewelry making, polymer clay, air dry clay, felt and paper crafts. Paper is my favorite. And the combination I love is paper and colors. Lately, I'm working also with air-drying clay to make some other ideas I have in my mind.
One day when I was in a bookstore I bought a book on papercrafts and somewhere there was a separate issue about papier mache. That was it! It was love at a glance! Now, papier mache is my passion, makes me smile, makes me happy and today I can’t imagine that there is something that can’t be done with paper mache.
Newspapers, balloons, cardboard, styrofoam, plastic bottles, milk cartons or wire make the perfect basis for me to create my handicrafts with papier mache technique: I dip newspapers or handmade paper pulp from toilet paper into glue and then cover the entire surface. Every piece is unique and handmade with love and care, one at a time, at my small workshop.
